The Ministry of Higher and Tertiary Education, Innovation, Science and Technology Development is inviting applications from suitable qualified job seekers to fill the following posts at Head Office in the Ministry of Higher and Tertiary Education, Innovation, Science and Technology Development

Reports To : Deputy Director, Research And Development

 

Duties And Responsibilities


 

Duties and Responsibilities
a. Develop the Heritage Based Education 5.0 Curriculum Research and Development for the Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) institutions in Zimbabwe;
b. Coordinate all Curriculum Research and Development experts and make recommendations for appropriate nominations for discipline experts;
c. Organize meetings/seminars/workshops of the Curriculum Research and Development for the development and review of HEXCO Qualification Standards, Proficiency Schedules, Course Syllabi and Course Regulations;
d. Maintain all the Curriculum Research and Development assets and material resources for the HEXCO curriculum research and development activities;
e. Prepare all required curriculum research and development inspection, quarterly and annual reports;
f. Administer the Zimbabwe National Qualifications Framework
(ZNQF) under the NET sector in accordance with the Manpower Planning and Development Regulations Statutory Instruments 140 of 2018 and the Quality Assurance Regulations of 2018;
g. Process the:
i. Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET)
ii. Private College registration and licensing,
iii. TVET Private and Public College monitoring and compliance;
h. Monitoring compliance of independent/private colleges as per Manpower Planning and Development Act [28:02] of 1984 amended in 2020;
i. Organize and process local and foreign qualification assessments;
j. Confirmation of local TVET Certificate Qualifications to regional and international boards;
k. Accreditation of local and foreign Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) programmes,
I. Processing of HEXCO course and subject exemptions,
m. Participate in National Manpower Advisory Council (NAMACO) Sectorial Committee meetings, and
n. Prepare and coordinate Higher Educe loan Examinations Council/Council (HEXCO) pre-ratification and ratification reports.

Qualifications And Experience


 

Qualifications, Experience and Attributes
A first degree/Higher National Diploma in a technical field or curriculum studies;
At least five years of post-qualification experience in a Technical and Vocational Education and Training field and a Master’s Degree in Curriculum Studies is an added advantage.
High level conceptualization of Higher Education Examinations Council Course Regulations;
Excellent understanding of curriculum development methods especially Competence Based Education and Training (CBET) and the German and Canadian Develop A Curriculum (DACUM) principles and processes;
High level of understanding of heritage-based Education 5.0 analytical skills and ability to document findings;
Understand the Zimbabwe National Qualifications Framework tenets, principles and procedures;
Knowledge of National Development Strategy (NDS1) 2021- 2025 in Zimbabwe;

Ability to coordinate and facilitate curriculum review programmes managing teams of technical experts;
• Good writing, communication and interpersonal skills;
• Ability to work and deliver results under pressure;
• Computer literacy and
• Clean Class 4 driver’s license.
