An Internal Auditor is sought to add value and improve our operations by bringing a systematic and disciplined approach to the effectiveness of risk management, control and governance processes to a group of small businesses
Duties And Responsibilities
a) Determine internal audit scope
b) Objectively review an organization’s business processes
c) Performing the full audit cycle including risk management and control management over operations’ effectiveness, financial reliability and compliance with all applicable directives and regulations
d) Identify loopholes in internal control systems and recommend risk mitigation measures and cost saving opportunities
e) Protect against fraud and theft of the organization’s assets
f) Make recommendations on how to improve internal controls and governance processes
g) Obtaining, analyzing and evaluating accounting documentation, reports, data, etc.
h) Prepare and present regular reports that reflect audit results and maintain documentation for process followed
i) Act as an objective source of independent advice to ensure validity, legality, and goal achievement
j) Maintain open communication with Management
k) Document audit process and prepare a report at least quarterly on audit findings.
l) Conduct follow up audits to monitor management interventions.
m) Investigate and determine causes of irregularities, and errors.
n) Keeps abreast of the organizational policies and procedures, current developments in accounting and auditing professions, and changes in local laws, as applicable.
Qualifications And Experience
The ideal incumbent will ideally be the holder of a Degree in Accounting/CIS, ACCA, CIMA and possess strong experience to be able to competently carry out the above responsibilities
