Duties And Responsibilities


 

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES
 Leading in the development and launching of new programmes;
 Developing and producing Open and Distance Learning materials including writing modules;
 Tutoring online;
 Setting and Marking assignments as well as examinations;
 Carrying out innovative and creative research and work;
 Promoting the University wide initiatives;
 Establishing partnerships with industry and local communities;
 Engaging in community service, community engagement and fundraising activities;
 Interfacing with other Faculties;
 Engaging in University service;
 Creating linkages with industry and related institutions
 Supervising students on teaching practice and practicum.
 Marketing university programmes;
 Advising Regional Campus on disability reasonable accommodations including universal design of
instruction and infrastructure
 Carrying out any other duties as delegated.

Qualifications And Experience


 

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
 A minimum of any Master of Education/Arts/Social Science in Inclusive Education/Special Needs
Education/Disability Studies/Remedial/Rehabilitation Education or equivalent;
 A relevant Bachelor’s Degree in any of the areas stated above;
 Possession of a PhD in any of the areas stated above is an added advantage;
 A minimum of two (2) years teaching experience in an institution of Higher Learning is a requirement;
 Knowledge of Open Distance Education and Learning is an added advantage;
 Knowledge of teaching using online platforms is a requirement
 Computer literacy a must;
 Intensive and Extensive knowledge in disability studies and special needs education is a must;
 Specialisation preferred: Visual Impairment, Intellectual/Mental Disability
