Job Summary


 

The Zimbabwe Open University (ZOU) is the largest and comprehensive Open & Distance Electronic Learning (ODeL) University in Zimbabwe that offers lifelong learning in an affordable and flexible manner.

PROJECTS OFFICER: INFRASTRUCTURE AND ESTATES MANAGEMENT UNIT (1 POST)
The incumbent will report to the Director, Infrastructure and Estates Management

 

Duties And Responsibilities


 

Coordinating and supervising the University’s construction projects
 Participating in developing construction project proposals and designs, scope and specifications of works, quantity and cost estimates, program of works, annual plans and budgets
 Ensuring compliance with regulations relating to building construction including approvals
 Liaising with contractors and other project team players and stakeholders on project requirements
 Monitoring and evaluation of project progress
 Creating and maintaining project records
 Performing any other duties as assigned by the Director, Infrastructure and Estates Management

Qualifications And Experience


 

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
 A Bachelor of Science Degree in Civil Engineering/ Structural Engineering;
 At least two (2) years post qualification work experience in coordination/ management of construction projects;
 Registered member of a professional body;
 Proficiency in preparing and interpreting program of works using software such as Microsoft Project, Microsoft Planner, Gant Charts, and other project management packages;
 Ability to multi-task;
 Strong interpersonal and teamwork skills; and
 Strong report writing skills
